CPR/Heimlich Certification

The Indiana Department of Education requires that all new teachers receive CPR/Heimlich Maneuver certification. Your training must include the following:

  1. Cardiopulmonary resuscitation that includes a test demonstration on a mannequin
  2. Removing a foreign body causing an obstruction in an airway
  3. Heimlich maneuver

All Fellows will be required to provide the Indianapolis Teaching Fellows program a copy of a card from either the American Red Cross or the American Heart Association, which indicates that they have successfully completed a CPR/Heimlich certification training. No one will be allowed to start Summer Institute without providing the program with a copy of their certification card.
