Rosalilia Stewart

Rosalilia Stewart “I have been with IPS for most of my twenty-six years; first as a student and for the past four years as a Bilingual Assistant. Due to a strong desire to educate my community, I looked into transition to teaching programs. The ITF program came at the right time and has met all of my high expectations. The intense structure and relevant information is preparing me for my new venture into teaching. Overall, I have enjoyed participating and truly appreciate the opportunity to be with this cohort of highly motivated and inspired people. I am excited to step into my classroom and ready to expand the minds of our IPS students.”

Rosalilia worked as a Bilingual Assistant in IPS since 2004 before coming to the Fellows program. She is currently teaching Spanish at Arsenal Technical High School.

Carol Stone

"I am so happy to have been chosen to be a part of the Indianapolis Teaching Fellows program! Over the last few years I had looked into other 'transition to teaching’ programs but none presented nearly the same level of opportunity and benefits as ITF. The design and structure of this program made returning to school practical and affordable and the experiential nature of the program is fantastic. By being placed in a school right away, we are learning and experiencing the 'real world' of teaching and working with urban youth immediately. This is so invaluable! I feel that with continued mentorship and support from ITF, IPS, and Marian I will make a phenomenal contribution to the education of our community's children. I am thankful to have this opportunity and plan to make the most of it!"

Carol worked as a case manager and Camp Director before becoming apart of the Fellows program. She is currently teaching Elementary Special Education at Paul Miller Elementary - School #114.
