Fellow Profiles

Mike Anderson

Mike Anderson was named the 2010 IPS Teacher of the Year. Before joining the Fellows program in 2007, he worked as a program coordinator at IUPUI Mathematics Assistance Center. This fall, Mike began his fourth year of teaching Math at TC Howe Academy.

Tameka Gillespie-Bryant

A 2008 Fellow, Tameka recently began her third year of teaching math at Broad Ripple High School where she has been successful in raising the math benchmark scores for her students for the past two years. Before joining ITF, Tameka worked as a quality assurance representative for Kelly Scientific-Eli Lily and Co.

Andrew Rivera

Andrew is a 2009 Fellow who returned to TC Howe Academy this year. As a new science teacher, he ensured his students exceeded the district benchmark averages and was recognized by the IPS Science Director for his high expectations and rigorous learning environment. Andrew was recognized as the Howe Teacher of the Month twice last year.

Leslie Sitzman

Leslie is a 2009 Fellow teaching chemistry at Pike High School.  She holds a Masters degree in Medical Neurosciences from Indiana University.  Last year, Leslie won the  ROSE Award at her school because students identified her as the “teacher who has impacted me the most."

Rosalilia Stewart

Rosalilia worked as a Bilingual Assistant in Indianapolis Public Schools for four years before joining the Fellows program in 2007. She recently began her fourth year of teaching Spanish at Arsenal Technical High School.
